Alcohol-Free Driving
Experts say that drinking alcoholic beverages in moderation is actually good for most people. In fact, throughout history, physicians have prescribed alcohol for its health benefits. Also, those who drink moderately can live longer and have less risk of developing heart disease than those who abstain from it.
On the other hand, there should be caution regarding the intake of alcohol when driving. According to statistics, alcohol-related accidents account for nearly one-third of all traffic accidents each year in the US alone. Meanwhile, nearly a sixth of all fatalities on the road that is accounted for in the UK occur due to violations of the legal alcohol limit.
The only sober solution for this would probably be avoiding the occurrence of driving under the influence of alcohol. When you refrain from drinking, knowing that you have the privilege and responsibility of driving yourself or others home can help you avoid alcohol-related incidents. Drinking during the wee hours of the morning should also be avoided. This is mostly the case because most pubs would close around these hours.
If you are not drinking, but you spot a drunk driver on the road, the best thing to do is to stay away from him by keeping a keep distance behind. Most of the time, a drunk driver will attempt to speed up and would do crazy stuff while on the road. This might keep you off-track and can cause you to crash over the side of the road. If you would drink even the smallest drop of alcohol, then do not hesitate to catch a taxi. Do not fool yourself that a single drink would not affect your driving ability. Stay safe all the time and do not let your concentration on the road be impaired. Being responsible is the only way that you can avoid certain road mishaps especially when you will be driving a car.
